Abstract

Abstract: An effective research requires the initialization of knowledge, positive affect and research action in the researcher as well as the initialization of research comprehensive attitude. The present study was conducted using descriptive-analytical method based on analyzing the concepts and re-processing the results of previous research. Based on this, theoretical and research background related to the realization of research comprehensive attitude were analyzed and three cognitive, emotional and functional dimensions of the mentioned theoretical framework along with the proposed components were organized in a clear dimensions and statements. At the end, a sample structure was presented in designing the general elements of school curriculum in order to realize research comprehensive approach.

Abstract

Abstract: Study on curriculum movement and variation of the mathematics textbooks in Iran is one of the fields that few studies have been accomplished, and in this field there have been no investigation reports or any particular results of such these studies. This paper deals with a short report of a comprehensive research in this field from the beginning of formal education curriculum in Iran for high school (1925) to 2008 (the time of gathering the data). In this research following subjects on high school curriculum are investigated: 1) Historical changes and overall evolution of formal educational system, 2) Five historic periods on changed of math textbooks, 3) Changes of curriculum based on the math subjects. I tried all the school textbooks to be considered and the content of them mathematically to be investigated. This paper deals with a conclusion by reviewing trigonometry as one of the school topics and its changes during this interval.

Abstract

Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is introducing modelling and application as a research domain in mathematics education through reviewing related literature. The first purpose of this review is to give a more clear meaning of modelling and application, and base on that, makes the distinction between modelling in mathematics education & modelling in other scientific domains. There are some other terms like Numeracy Quantitative literacy Mathematization and Word Problems that with some tolerance, are taken as equivalent term to modelling. However, modelling has salient differences with every one of them. Second purpose of this paper, is to introduce modelling cycle and its steps. Third, some researches who are working in the domain of modelling and application will be reviewed and then methodology and results of one of them will be mentioned. Finally, several open research questions for future research in the domain of modeling and application will be announced.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and explain the experience of teaching art in the elementary school teachers was conducted. In this context, an essential question is examined: primary school teachers, learning how to experience the arts curriculum? Using qualitative research methods, semi-structured in-depth interviews and purposive sampling, 10 cases of primary school teachers Mehdishahr city were interviewed in depth. Theoretical saturation was confirmed at the end of my interview. Data were analyzed using coding techniques and the three criteria of validity and acceptability, reliability and scalability approval was obtained. The findings of the research, experience in teaching art in the elementary school teachers in the three main axes showed weakness honor the art, the lack of education, lack of parental interest. Based on these findings, teachers have not been successful in teaching the art curriculum and have failed to benefit from the potential for teaching art lessons. Despite the interest in the issue of teachers' verbal art unimportance among other courses in the teaching of practical arts curriculum for teachers is obvious. This is because art teachers from time to compensate for falling behind their modules to use. Facilities generally will address the curriculum of art as much as it abstained. Based on theory and research findings, strategies to overcome the challenges of art education in primary schools is recommended, including art lesson plans independently, providing specialized service training courses, particularly arts teachers, creating suitable for exchange of experiences among teachers, funding and facilities in accordance with the requirements of art lessons, parents and families to raise awareness of the importance of arts education.

Abstract

The research goal was to investigate the outcomes of implicit curriculum from university students’ point of view.A purposeful sample of 15 professors and 20 students from shiraz university participated in the study. Data were collected through the research literature and by doing interviews with key experts and then the collected data analyzed by using the thematic network model. The set of 154 coded-common experiences were identified. Findings were classified into three major categories including: 1) basic concepts; 2) organizing themes; 3) inclusive themes. Results generally indicate that the main outcomes that students learned through the implicit curriculum are as follows: 1) authority; 2) discipline behaviors; 3) sense of comfort; 4) self- worth; 5) self-control; 6) social solidarity;  7) value-oriented approach; 8) responsibility;  9) passing exams with the minimum of effort; 10) cheating ; 11) stereotyping; 12) gaining scientific spirit; 13) deep study, and 14) undeep study.

Abstract

Current study has been implemented with the aim of quality evaluation of research methodological skills of master students in human science disciplines in Tehran's public Universities. In qualitative section, by using purposeful and snow-ball sampling, experts in field of teaching methodology were interviewed. By using content analysis and coding procedure and also the syllabuses of the research methods and statistic courses, 35 important skills were indentified. In quantitative section, based on identified skills a valid and reliable questionnaire was developed and completed by 270 students. First, by implementing exploratory factor analysis, all skills were decreased into 27 skills and 4 factors (designing, practical, analytical and writing skills) were indentified. In the second stage, confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the measurement model of latent variable has good fit with observed data. In the next stage the results of Chi-squared test indicated that students have meaningful evaluation from skills. They evaluated their skills lower than average. Also the results of Friedman test have meaningfully ranked skills in each dimension. The results of ranked skills indicate that "selecting an appropriate title for doing research", "using electronic resource and scientific database", "interpreting the outputs of analyzed data", and "writing an article from the results of conducted research" have the lowest rank in each dimension. Generally, result of this study indicates weakness in needed research skills among human sciences master students of Tehran's public Universities.

Abstract

The aim of the research, design management competencies required and in accordance with the primary second period. This research is descriptive survey. The population consisted of documents the educational system, domestic and foreign experts and the results of some research that purposive sampling, the National Curriculum Document and a number of studies that focus on the introduction of management competencies were selected. To design a competency model, the design approach (Model Byham and Meyer) was used in five stages. For the analysis of questionnaire data, indices such as mean, standard deviation and t-test were used. Finally, given the research competency model fits the second period was the initial draw, which consists of five specific competencies Cluster sub-clusters 14 and 11 of the general merit.

Abstract

This purpose of this study was offering a systematic review and a meta-synthesis of the theoretical patterns and studies conducted with the aim of contrasting and comparing teacher training in Iran and worldwide. The approach used in this study included discretional qualitative research synthesis which was fulfilled through content analysis and meta-synthesis. The total corpus for this study included studies, books, and theses conducted with contrastive goals in the field of teacher training in Iran and abroad during 2000 and 2017. The sample corpus included more than 10 books on contrastive education that was published in the past 15 years in Iran, 3 books in English, 35 studies, theses, and research in Persian and English. A conceptual framework was then formed based on the results for contrasting the teacher training systems which included 3 main aspects: a comprehensive program of education, social patterns and economic patterns.

Abstract

  Flipped classroom is a way to create positive changes in education; therefore, in the present study we tried to offer a comprehensive operating model of implementation of this method based on research synthesis. The corpus of this study consisted of all scientific articles published about the implementation of flipped classroom. From this corpus 1084 papers were identified through constant searching of the scientific data bases and a total of 100 articles were selected for the final analysis. A researcher-made worksheet form was used for the purpose of reporting and submitting information. The obtained data were analyzed through six-step model for meta-synthesis Roberts using Open and axial coding techniques. According to the findings Curriculum Design in the flipped classroom includes a change in the structure of classroom which has defined different and new roles and responsibilities for teachers and learners.

Abstract

number of postgraduate students has been growing exponentially in Iran in the last two decades. That is while the number of faculty has not increased proportionally to keep up with the fast growth. Hence, the student-faculty ratio has widened, turning thesis and dissertations into chaotic scene. Accordingly, this paper aims at uncovering how Iranian professors supervise postgraduate research projects in such a complex unprecedented context. The research participants are 45 postgraduate students who were selected purposively by criterion sampling strategy and interviewed by informal and in-depth techniques. Abstract

This study aimed toexplain factors affecting qualityof teaching and determine their impact onteaching quality.The mixed research approach was used for collecting the data. The population (qualitative method) consisted of staff at central organization of university and researchers of university in 2011- 2016; they were selected using combined sampling method.The population (quantitative method)also consistedof educational assistants,headsof research andeducation department, and faculty members in2016.In qualitative study,the exploratory interviews andsemi-structured interviews wereused for collecting thedata.Inquantitative study,theidentified categories which were derived from encoding qualitative data were used to create paired comparison questionnaires; they included factors affecting quality of teaching.The resultswere analyzed using AHPmethod.Thefindings indicatedthat the contribution of teacher, educational environment, and students was estimated to be41,33, and 26 percent, respectively.Among teacher components,the professional skillsof teacher(weight326) was determined to be themost important component; among student components,theacademicrecords andexperiences(weight463)was determinedto bethe mostcomponent;andamong educational environment components,quality educational spaces and equipment(weight429)was determined to be the most important component.

Abstract

In the implementation of the new curriculum, art education has been marginalized. For this purpose, scientific activities must be planned which the person tries to change the unfavorable situation to a relatively favorable situation (action research). The aim of this study is the investigation of the challenges elementary classroom teachers face when implementing the new arts education curriculum and explanation of the concept of action research in integration of arts in elementary schools to implement the new art education programs. The method of study was integrated and based on action research. By using various arts (integration of art) and improving the conditions for its implementation (action research) it became clear that students are interested in changing the artistic program for its pivotality. Satisfactory results were also generated in the field of education and learning.​Implementing of new curriculum program based on the integration of art will increase the participation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design a virtual reality curriculum model in science course based on a synthesis method. The statistical population of this study consisted of all valid scientific articles in the field of virtual reality that based on regular search of databases, 920 scientific articles were identified according to the inclusion criteria and finally 197 exclusion criteria were selected for final analysis. Were. A researcher-designed worksheet form was used to collect, report and record the initial research data. Findings were analyzed using Marshchr('39')s (1991) seven-step model of open synthesis and axial coding methods. Research findings show that the Virtual Reality-Based Curriculum in Science is a student-centered curriculum that creates different roles and responsibilities for the learner, teacher, and knowledge.

Abstract

workplace curriculum as an emerging aspest of curriculum discipline, attempt to apply the finding of this field of study in workplace learning. The purpose of this research is to examine the different dimensions of the workplace curriculum in the related studies and present a workplace curriculum model. Research methodology is thematic research synthesis and research community is All published document in the field of workplace curriculum from 1993 to 2017 in seven valid databases. The content of the documents was categorized and organized by using MAXQDA (18). Based on the results, the workplace curriculum as main theme has four themes: "aspect", "effective factors", "constructive elements" and "expected outcomes". Each of the themes also has a variety of levels that have been used in workplace curricuum model. The proposed model has influential factors, the curuculum cycle, and the output of the workplace curriculum.

Abstract

This research is applied in terms of purpose and synthesis in terms of method. The scope of research and the main sources of data collection are numerous studies that have been conducted since the outbreak of Covid-19 virus in connection with the challenges of transition from face-to-face to virtual education in Iran and abroad. 69 samples were purposefully selected. In the next steps, information coding and classification was performed; The combination of categories and the results of the analysis led to the extraction of a conceptual framework related to the challenges of transfer from face-to-face training to virtual training and the presentation of appropriate strategies for this transfer. In general, the challenges of transition to e-learning in two dimensions, macro and micro, were extracted in four categories and 22 codes, and successful transfer strategies from face-to-face to virtual education were presented in seven categories and 17 codes.

Abstract

The present study has pursued two objectives, including investigating the educational system's pathology of gifted schools and provide a curriculum improvement indicators model based on the qualitative method and synthesis research. The statistical population included 261 theoretical sources collection. 94 study had the most coordination. 443 phrases were extracted. Data analyzed by three-step inductive method and 101 themes were obtained. Findings showed that the educational system's damage include 39 basic concepts; 7 sub-themes; 3 main themes. Curriculum development include 62 basic themes; 3 sub-themes and 1 main theme. The results showed one-dimensional training; deficit design and passive teaching-learning programs are gifted school's educational problems. Also, the  enrichmental extracurricular includes: multiple and purposeful curriculum; Optimize and increase the quality of teaching-learning; Strengthening the motivation to learn; nurture dynamic students was considered as an indicator of curriculum improvement. Therefore, it is suggested these findings be used to design and develop gifted curriculum.

Abstract

A research was conducted using qualitative approach, to identify the required knowledge for mathematics educators that are preparing prospective elementary teachers. Two mathematics educators from “Farhangian University” participated in this study. The data collected from four different sources observation of virtual classes of two participants while teaching multiplication and division of fractions, semi-structred interviews with participant, educators’ lesson plans and first author’s field notes. The classes hold virtually due to the Covid-19 pandamic. After many levels of systematic data reduction, three categories emerged as “the role of educators’ beliefs in teaching mathematicsL, “choosing challenging content for developing conceptual understanding of multiplication and division of fractions and “recognition of misconceptions of elementary students”. As a result, a theoretical framework developed for required knowledge of mathematics educators with four components as “knowledge of mathematics-content”, “knowledge of mathematics curriculum", "knowledge of students’ mathematics misconceptions” and “knowledge of modifying teaching to fit the situation.”

Abstract

The present article has been done with the aim of meta-analysis of the works of research teachers in Zanjan province and has used the combined meta-analysis method and six steps of Krippendorf. From the statistical population of 129 selected works of the province, 51 works have been selected as the study sample. Data were extracted with the help of three analysts using three checklists. Research findings in terms of form show more attention of research teachers (female, elementary school, intermediate work history,…) in the field of educaotin and learning, in the methodological view indicate more use of critical approach by research teachers in Problem solving, from the combined method in data collection and analysis, from the theoretical background in proposing solutions and also; In terms of cognitive concept, it indicates that most of the issues of teaching and learning are related to the structure and method of education.

Abstract

This Study aims to look into the evolution and revision of higher education curricula Post September 11, 2001. The study used a qualitative research method with an historical lens. The investigator shows the evolution of reviewing higher education curricula in 21st century from an analytical perspective. The study uses archival analysis primarily research publications and  documents related to higher education curricula available online and printed in digital sources.The finding show that the higher education curriculum in Afghanistan has gone through different phases. The data suggest that the curriculum experience show a transition from a relatively irregular curriculum planning system before September 11 to a centralized curriculum system post September 11 leading towards opinion polls and the delegation of some autonomy for curriculum to prestigious universities.The study found that 165 majors were identified that needed to be reviewed;among them, the curriculum of 71 fields of study have been revised to date
