مقدمه: با افزایش پیچیدگی وظیفه کاری، به دلیل رفتار متفاوت اطلاعاتی (یعنی تنوع و پیچیدگی نیاز اطلاعاتی، سخت‌گیری‌ها در کسب اطلاعات، توجه به منابع اطلاعاتی شفاهی، تعامل و تبادل اطلاعات با همکاران)، تجربه سواد اطلاعاتی که فراتر از دسترسی و استفاده از اطلاعات است، و بر مهارت در کسب و بهره‌گیری از اطلاعات، به منظور پاسخگویی به مشتریان و تبادل اطلاعات با دیگر همکاران و بهره‌دهی اطلاعات در محیط کار تمرکز دارد، اهمیت پیدا می‌کند.
هدف: پرداختن به نقش تجربه سواد اطلاعاتی افراد در محیط کار بر حسب پیچیدگی وظیفه کاری در متون هدف مقاله مروری حاضر است است.   
روش‌شناسی: پژوهش کیفی حاضر از نوع توصیفی است که با مرور محتوا انجام شد. برای پرداختن به هدف مقاله، منابع مرتبط گردآوری و با روش و رویکرد کتابخانه‌ای مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. در این پژوهش از روش نظرورزی یا جستار نظرورزانه به منظور بسط و گسترش اندیشه‌ای مهم اما توجه نشده در متون مرتبط با موضوع پژوهش استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: با پیچیدگی وظایف کاری، وابستگی به اطلاعات بیشتر و تجربه سواد اطلاعاتی اهمیت بیشتری پیدا می‌کتد. هر چه پیچیدگی بیشتر شود، وجوه بیشتری از سواد اطلاعاتی در محیط کار لازم است؛ همچنین با بررسی تعاریف سواد اطلاعاتی، تعداد معدودی از آن‌ها سواد اطلاعاتی را برای بهره‌گیری در محیط کاری تعریف کرده بودند و هر کدام نیز با توجه به هفت وجه تجربه‌سواد ‌طلاعاتی براس (1999)، که سواد اطلاعاتی را در محیط کار مورد توجه قرار داده است، به تمام وجوه توجه نکرده بودند.
نتیجه‌گیری: دستیابی به مهارت و تجربه در سواد اطلاعاتی توسط کارکنان در محیط‌های کاری و حرفه‌ای سبب تبدیل آنان به افرادی شایسته و موفق می‌شود. مدیران و کارکنان باید بتوانند علاوه بر برخورداری از سواد اطلاعاتی مناسب با بهره‌گیری از هفت وجه تجربه سواد اطلاعاتی و پرورش و تقویت ذهنی قادر به سازگاری با تغییرات روزافزون در محیط‌های شغلی شوند و سبب بقاء و پیشرفت سازمان گردند.
