Abstract

With the aim of development and reducing regional inequalities, regional planning is one of the most important subiects in developing countries. Regional planning requires the identification of the position of areas relative to each other in terms of their development. The aim of this study is to investigate and assess the level of Kermanshah province in terms of development indicators in order to find out the level of regional inequalities. The population of Kermanshah province is considered as statistical population. According to the investigated parameters of the research approach, it is “Descriptive - quantitative and analytical". This research is trying to use the 61 indicators based on 1390 almanac statistics and utilizes three statistical techniques of Vikor, Electre, SAW and integration of  results with Copeland  technique, classify existing inequalities in Kermanshah province. The results show that the Levels of development has been unbalanced and there is large gap and inequality among different cities of province in terms of development. The difference and inequality exist in various sectors of infrastructure such as economic, health, education, culture, social welfare and social. Only one city Gilangharb is developed and the rest of cities are semi- developed and deprived. To reduce inequalities in development in the province it is suggested that distribution of health, education and infrastructure indicators should be directed towards balanced growth and the index of infrastructure be emphasized more than the other indicators.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to provide a reliable estimate of the amount of solar radiation in Kermanshah province by using “Liu and Jordan” model in order to develop solar sites. The amount of atmospheric elimination in each month was calculated using an index called clearness index (AWT IMAGE) and the results were applied on different slopes, aspects and heights. Then, according to the obtained results, amounts of direct, diffuse and total radiation were calculated in different slopes of the region and the relevant maps were consequently drawn. The results showed that the minimum amount of atmospheric elimination and thus the maximum amount of received radiation in the province occurs in late spring and summer due to the increase of clearness index (AWT IMAGE) with a maximum of 1360 cal/cm2/day in May. the least amount of received radiation occurs in Janury equal to 386.3 cal/cm2/day. Radiation variations at the provincial level are high between lowlands and highlands in Janury and December, according to the angle of radiation and significant elevation changes in the region. However, in summer, distribution of surface radiation is almost identical because of high solar radiation, and thus standard deviation amount of received radiation is reduced. The highest amount of radiation is received in Javanrood city as much as 528.1 cal/ cm2/day due to greater heights, and the lowest amount is received in Qasr-e Shirin city as much as 443.6 cal/ cm2/day due to lower heights.

Abstract

Since the most important climatic parameter affecting sugar beet cultivation is the temperature, we carried out this research considering climatic elements such as temperature, precipitation and freezing days in relation to autumn sugar beet planting. Daily temperatures of selected stations in a period of 10 years (2005-2015) has been used for agroclimatic analysis. In order to evaluate that, thermal potential assessment, deviation from optimal conditions and active day gradient index (GDD) were used. The evaluation of thermal potential based on the threshold of 0, 4, and 10 degrees Centigrade at the station levels in Kermanshah province showed that Sar-e-Pol-e-Zahab Station has the highest cumulative thermal unit and Kangavar Station has the least one. In Isfahan province, Khour-va-Biabanak station has the highest cumulative thermal unit and Khansar station has the lowest unit. Based on the deviation from optimal conditions in Kermanshah province, Sar-e-Pol-e-Zahab station has the lowest (-27.79) and in Khour-va-Biabanak station (-21.78) had the least deviation from optimal conditions. Planting date at the stations was considered based on the autumn temperature. In Kermanshah province, Sar-e-Pol-e Zahab station had the earliest date of harvest (May 1st.), while this date in Isfahan province was for Khour-va-Biabanak station (May 9th.). Suitable areas for planting in Kermanshah province are found to be the eastern and northeastern regions of Sar-e-Pol-e Zahab and Qasr-Shirin. In the province of Isfahan, the northern and western parts of Khour-va-Biabanak and Kashan were the most proper regions and central areas are in the next steps.

Abstract

In this study, the dust situation in 6 synoptic stations of Kermanshah province was investigated in the period 1987-1992. To study this phenomenon, dust days were extracted in 2009 with code (06) from the current air index. Then data from different bar levels were taken from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Organization (NCEP / NCAR) database and maps were plotted in the Grads software. Finally, through the processing of MODIS satellite imagery, with the application of the brightness temperature index, round detection and the dust was made and its territory expanded. The results of the study showed that at low ground level, when the European high-pressure system retreated to the north and west, Sudan's low pressure existed in the eastern Mediterranean, and the system moved southwest to the northeast, and when they entered, the disturbance zone is caused due to the lack of moisture in the dust, the main sources of dust in the province of Kermanshah include the deserts of northern Arabia, southern Iraq, and somewhat north of the sub-Saharan Africa.

Abstract

Population growth and urbanization development are the main triggering factors of changes in urban land uses. These, in turn, result in changes in the components of radiation balance. The present study tries to analyze the role of urban land uses in radiation balance by calculating net radiation and its analysis. For this purpose, the Landsat 8 satellite image of 2016 was used. Characteristics of radiation flux including net radiation flux (RN), ground surface albedo (α), incoming longwave radiation (RL↓), incoming shortwave radiation (RS↓), outgoing longwave radiation (RL↑), and ground surface temperature were computed using Sebal algorithm. The values of these components in different land uses (compressed residential, scattered residential, green area and wastelands) were analyzed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey’s test. The results of this study showed that the selected land uses have significant differences in the amount of radiation flux, therefore the wastelands are warmer than the residential areas by about 6 oC and the residential areas are warmer than the green areas by about 1.5 oC. The results also indicated that these differences are due to changes in output energy (α and RL↑), and any change in land use over time will ultimately lead to a change in the radiation balance and the temperature of those places, which this temperature increase, is different from the increase of the temperature due to global warming.

Abstract

Radar sensors obtain regular and frequent radar images from which ground motion can be precisely detected using a variety of different techniques. The interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) is utilized to retrieve the spatial characteristics of the largest coseismic landslide Maleh-Kabood, induced by the Ms 7.3 Azgleh earthquake in Kermanshah Province, Iran. The available seven interferometric pairs with good coherence selected from the Sentinel 1, 2 imagery data covering the NW-Zagros mountainous area are used in the study. The post-seismic topographic change relative to the pre-seismic over the landslide area is spatially mapped from the persistent scatterer network adjustment solution. The quantitative estimation of local elevation change, mass sliding volume and deposit thickness associated with the landslide is conducted. The spatial pattern of mass movement suggests that the giant landslide is characterized by a major sliding length of 3570 m along the NW–SE directions with an extension width of 1500-2300 m along the Maleh-Kabood and Ghoch-Bashi gully respectively, and a peak height change of 20 m in the vertical direction neat mountain ridge. The affected area of landslide mass movement reaches 6.0 km2 (577 Hectares) with the volume up to 500 million m3. Comparative studies indicated that the Maleh-Kabood landslide is the largest landslide in Iran over the past few centuries. The study also demonstrates the potential of InSAR technique as an alternative to allow the quantitative measurement of mass wasting volume associated with earthquake-induced giant landslides.

Abstract

Interactions and sometimes contradictions in economic and cultural priorities which happen due to social transformations, changes in paradigms and changes in economic – political systems led to changes in urban regeneration concept. The role of culture in urban regeneration had significant changes comparing to other factors; and the cultural focuses became the main approach in urban regeneration in recent decades. The quality of built environment and level of residents’ satisfaction plays an important role in regeneration policies of target areas as well. This study investigates the impact of environment quality variables (environmental, physical, economic and social) on level of residents’ satisfaction in cultural neighborhoods of Kerman, with the goal of improving the regeneration process. The method of this research is applied-developmental in terms of the aim, and descriptive and causal comparative in terms of the nature. This study uses questionnaire as a tool for collecting data. The study sample size is 513 and the data were analyzed by SPSS and AMOS softwares. The results demonstrate a significant direct relationship between economic and physical variables as well as social variables and consequently the same relationship between economic and the sense of satisfaction. The results also indicate a significant inverse relationship between environmental variables, which are effective on sense of satisfaction, and economic variables. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) show that improvement in the condition of economic, physical and environmental variables, will improve condition of social variables and the sense of satisfaction in the studied neighborhoods. Furthermore, analysis showed that economic variables have more effect on social variables and eventually on the sense of satisfaction as compared to physical and environmental variables. Therefore, the negative effects of each four aforementioned factors could be decreased in the studied neighborhood through planning and application of culture-led regeneration policies. Accordingly the increase in the sense of satisfaction would improve the revitalization and sustainability in these neighborhoods.

Abstract

In this study, in order to study the base temperature (minimum temperature for plant growth) at the degree of growth day (GDD), which is one of the important parameters in calculating the degree of growth day, first, the data required for the 2009-2017 statistical period of wheat production at the station Sararood was taken from the station. Then, after sorting and separating growth different stages, using four methods of calculating the base temperature (1 - minimum standard deviation SDgdd day, 2 - minimum standard deviation SDAY days, 3 - regression coefficient per day CRday, 4 - CV coefficient of variation) was the most suitable method for calculating the base temperature of growth in different stages of planting to wheat harvesting. The results showed that the most suitable method is the minimum standard deviation in GDD, which The base temperature was obtained from germination to full reach for different growth stages, 5/8, 0/38, 1/8, 2/6, 0/63, 2, 3/7, 9/7, 8/6, 11 degrees Celsius. By comparing different methods of calculating GDD, the most appropriate of method was the general method of calculating the degree of growth day due to the most of similarity to the station data. The degree of growth day in different stages was calculated based on their base temperature and the results showed that the calculation of the base temperature at each stage of the growth of the wheat was very accurate for GDD calculation and a precise estimate of GDD was obtained.

The aim of this study was to identify the epicenter and co-occurrence factors of dust storm wave from 1 to 3 November 2017 in Kermanshah. To investigate the synoptic conditions of the causes of this phenomenon, from the European Central Center (ESMWF) mid-term weather forecast data set with a resolution of 0.125 degrees of arc including, geopotential height, omega, sea level pressure, orbital and meridional components, humidity. The Lagrangian method of HYSPLIT model was used to orient the source of dust particles. in this study, dust storm WRF-chem was simulated using a paired numerical weather forecasting model. Finally, through the processing of MODIS satellite images, its scope was determined. Examination of HYSPLIT tracking maps shows that two general paths for dust transfer to the area can be identified. 1- The northwest-southeast route, which passes through dust cores formed in the deserts of Iraq and Syria, transports dust to the western half of Iran. 2- Southwest to west of Iran and Kermanshah, which is the main source of dust on November 2 and 3, The source of the particles is Kuwait, northern Saudi Arabia and part of Iraq. The spatial distribution of the dust interpreted by the MODIS sensor images is consistent with the spatial distribution of the dust concentration simulated by the WRF-chem model.

Abstract

Baths are among the public buildings whose shape and architecture have changed during different historical periods. Due to the importance of these valuable buildings. Kermanshah is one of the cities that during the historical period, especially in the Qajar period, due to its location on the path of Atbat-e-Aliat, was considered by the rulers of the time and has many textures and examples of historical baths. Therefore, the present study seeks to identify the types of historical baths in Kermanshah province with emphasis on the location. To achieve this, it is necessary to study the factors affecting the formation, location in urban, rural and neighborhood contexts, spatial geometry of Kermanshah baths. The research method in this research is a descriptive-analytical method based on field studies, analysis of the location, structure, architecture, decorations, proportions and materials of 12 samples of baths in Kermanshah province and a comparative-historical study of the samples. The results of this study show that Kermanshah province baths in terms of location are divided into 6 types: baths in the bazaar, single baths in neighborhoods, twin baths in neighborhoods, baths as an element of a complex in neighborhoods, baths in houses and baths They are divided in the rural context. The geometry of Kermanshah bath spaces is a function of the location in the city or village. Communication spaces and corridors in neighborhood and market-affiliated baths are based on the big measure, but in private baths and in-house baths and rural baths are based on the small measure. The main spaces of urban baths are decorated with limestone, but rural baths do not have limestone decorations. All the baths studied have 3 main spaces: Bine, garmkhaneh and khazineh, and the area of the garmkhaneh space is relatively larger and larger than Bine, space.

Abstract

Urban public spaces have become increasingly vital in the functioning of cities, serving as primary sites for citizen interactions. These spaces play a significant role in understanding human behavior and in shaping behavioral settings. This article examines the factors that influence the establishment of behavioral patterns in Azadi Square, the main square in Kermanshah. Despite its communicative function, the social role of this square remains limited. The research conducted for this article employed a descriptive and survey-based methodology. Data collection techniques included observation, photography, face-to-face interactions, and physical presence within the study area. Additionally, interviews were conducted with randomly selected individuals based on pedestrian flow in the square. Each interview lasted an average of approximately 12 minutes. Analysis of behavioral pattern maps in the area revealed a mismatch between the form and function of Azadi Square. Dynamic and static activities within the square were of short duration, while the haphazard arrangement of details hindered its visual expression. The lack of human-scale dimensions in the space resulted in a decline in quality for activities such as meetings, exercise, play, sitting, stopping, and even walking. Overall, the quality of Azadi Square in Kermanshah has not adequately met the functional needs of its users. Consequently, this research emphasizes the importance of understanding the relationship between behavioral patterns and the environment, enabling designers to enhance the quality of such spaces.

Abstract

In this study, we examined the impact of climate change on the virtual water content of key crops in Kerman province for future periods. Specifically, we utilized the climatic data from the HadCM3 model under the RCP4.5 radiative forcing scenario. The model was calibrated and validated for the base period of 1991-2011. We predicted the precipitation levels, as well as the maximum and minimum temperatures, for selected stations from 2011 to 2070 using data from LARS-WG. These predictions were then compared to the base period. The virtual water content was calculated for three selected crops: alfalfa, barley, and wheat. Our findings indicate that climate change has a significant impact on evapotranspiration and the performance of these crops, consequently affecting future agricultural water productivity. As we project an increase in average temperature during the growing season due to climate change, it is worth noting that the maximum temperature parameter will be more affected by this phenomenon than the minimum temperature. This, in turn, will lead to increased water requirements and plant evaporation-transpiration during this period. Our research also reveals a decrease in precipitation during hot seasons and an increase during cold seasons across all study stations. Notably, the virtual water content for all crops studied demonstrates an upward trend, with barley and wheat showing the greatest average increase in the future period. Specifically, the Kerman station exhibits a substantial increase in virtual water content for barley and alfalfa products, at a minimum of 30% higher than the base period.
