Abstract

As a novel idea for discussion on the role of industrial development on regional development, the term “cluster” became noteworthy since 90’s in order to increase competitiveness. Territorial development researchers believe that formation of regional industrial clusters improves competitiveness and plays a role in promoting competitive advantages and regional development. Hence, because of the possibility of realization of competitive advantage, Tourism clusters became a focal point for research and policy making. Against this background, the purpose of this research is to analyze and review the role of industrial clusters on development of regional competitiveness and assumes that the higher number of relations in an industrial cluster leads to higher level of regional competitiveness. The research applies descriptive-analytical research method and utilizes questionnaire to collect data. The data was studied by SPSS and Lisrel software packs after approval of validity and reliability of data. Findings corroborate the relation between higher number of relations in industrial clusters with higher level of regional competitiveness and also identifies the contributing factors to development and stimulation of regional development which are ranked by the order of their effect as follows: 1. Social relations, 2. Geographic and location relations, 3. Economic relations, and 4. Institutional relations.

Abstract

One of the new theories in the field of urban development planning is the creative city theory, which can be useful due to the intense competition between cities in the age of globalization. Based on this, various researches have been done about the metropolis of Tehran, which have looked at the city of Tehran and creativity from different angles. Therefore, analysis and evaluation of these researches from different aspects such as study scale, research method and results are necessary. The purpose of this study is to systematically review the articles on the subject of creative city in Tehran in order to identify research shortcomings and also the systematic combination of their valuable results. This research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in the form of systematic review. For this purpose, it uses quantitative and qualitative meta-analysis. Preliminary research data consists of thirteen Scientific Research Papers that have been selected using purposive sampling. Findings from a quantitative review of articles show that most of the research conducted in the field of creative cities is quantitative, positivist, non-exploratory, large-scale and pays little attention to indigenous indicators. Also, the qualitative results of the research indicate that the city of Tehran, despite its relative position in terms of creative city indicators in the country, is far from international standards and existing trends do not show the move to a creative city. In order to achieve the creative city of Tehran, it is necessary to consider following points; at the international level the principles of competition and interaction, at the national level the principle of balance, at the level of Tehran metropolis the principle of development, at the city zones the principle of spatial justice and at the level of neighborhoods and urban spaces the principles of the quality of space and vitality.

Abstract

Desertification is a serious environmental and socio-economic threat to the planet. The aim of this study is to use a scientific, reasonable and repeatable method to evaluate the process of vegetation and land use as two important factors in the process of desertification on different scales (local-regional and global). In this study, Sarvestan plain in Fars province was selected as the study area. For this purpose, Landsat images were used for TM (1993), ETM + (2001 and 2006) and OLI / TIRS (2016). Image monitoring was performed using image differentiation, NDVI index difference and land use maps. In 1993, 2001, and 1993, and 2016 difference maps, the decrease in the amount of water in the mouth of Lake Maharloo can be clearly seen as increasing changes in the infrared band. The results of the difference between the vegetation index and the increase in vegetation in the form of agricultural lands in 2016 compared to 2006 and 1993. According to the results of the monitoring classification, from 1993 to 2016, irrigated areas decreased from 7.11 hectares to 0.7575 hectares, on the other hand, the level of saline lands increased from 143.99 hectares to 223.83 hectares and the level of cultivated lands increased. (Agricultural and horticultural) has increased from 113.28 hectares to 14/2014 hectares, which due to the importance of saline lands and land use change indicators in the studies of the desertification assessment process, it can be concluded that the desertification process in the study area is growing.
