هدف تحقیق حاضر تعیین اثر تمرینات انتقال وزن بر تعادل ایستا و پویای زنان سالمند بود. بدین منظور 20 آزمودنی در دسترس و واجد شرایط انتخاب و به روش تصادفی ساده به 2 گروه 10 نفره کنترل و تجربی تقسیم شدند. گروه تجربی تمرینات انتقال وزن را به مدت 6 هفته، هفته ای 3 جلسه و هرجلسه 60 دقیقه انجام دادند. این تمرینات با استفاده از بخش تمرینات دستگاه تعادلی بایودکس و برنامه تمرینات انتقال وزن این دستگاه انجام شد. تعادل ایستا و پویای آزمودنی های 2 گروه در پیش آزمون و پس آزمون با استفاده از بخش آزمون گیری دستگاه بایودکس اندازه گیری شد. نتایج آزمون آماری تحلیل واریانس مرکب با اندازه گیری های مکرر  برای عامل زمان، بیانگر معنی داری اثر اصلی زمان یعنی قبل و بعد تمرین و اثر اصلی گروه و اثر تعاملی زمان-گروه تنها در شاخص های تعادل پویا شامل شاخص کلی تعادل پویا، شاخص قدامی خلفی تعادل پویا و شاخص میانی جانبی تعادل پویا بود. تحلیل های درون گروهی با استفاده از آزمون آماری t همبسته نشان داد تمرینات انتقال وزن اثر معنی داری بر شاخص های تعادل پویای زنان سالمند داشت، اما این اثر در مورد تعادل ایستا دیده نشد. بهبود تعادل پویای پیرو تمرینات انتقال وزن ممکن است به دلیل اثربخشی این تمرینات بر دستگاه های حسی و حرکتی درگیر در تعادل پویای سالمندان زن باشد.
