مطالعه حاضر با هدف بررسی اثر سطوح بالیدگی جسمانی و سن تقویمی بر‌توانایی‌های حرکتی دانش‌آموزان 12-7 سال انجام شد. براین اساس تعداد 600 دانش آموز دختر و پسر 12-7 سال در‌سه رده سنی 8-7 سال، 10-9 سال و 12-11 سال انتخاب شدند. برای تعیین وضعیت بالیدگی جسمانی از برآورد درصد قامت بزرگسالی استفاده شد. درنهایت جهت ارزیابی توانایی حرکتی از آزمون توانایی حرکتی (DMT) استفاده شد. این آزمون برای ارزیابی توانایی‌های استقامت، قدرت، سرعت، هماهنگی، انعطاف پذیری و توانایی عملکرد عمومی مورد استفاده قرار می‌گیرد. نتایج نشان داد اثر سن تقویمی و اثر سطح بالیدگی برای توانایی‌های حرکتی مورد مطالعه معنادار بود. مقایسه میانگین‌ها نشان داد دانش‌آموزان متولد ‌شده در سطح بالیدگی طبیعی دارای میانگین توانایی حرکتی بالاتری نسبت ‌به دانش‌آموزان در سطح بالیدگی زودرس و دیر‌رس می‌باشند. همچنین دانش‌آموزان دختر با سطح بالیدگی دیر‌رس دارای پایین‌ترین میانگین توانایی حرکتی هستند. نتایج نشان‌داد اثر تعاملی سطح بالیدگی-‌ سن تقویمی دختران معنادار بود. براساس نتایج مطالعه حاضر سطح بالیدگی اثر معناداری بر عملکرد و اجرای مهارت‌های حرکتی دارد. در نهایت نتایج این پژوهش منحصر‌به جامعه فعلی و محدود‌ به رنج سنی 12-7‌ سال شهر تهران می‌باشد و نماینده تمام گروه‌ های سنی نیست.
