این پژوهش خودکارآمدی تمرینی و شاخص های بهزیستی را بر اساس جهت گیری های مختلف نسبت به فعالیت ها را در جانبازان و معلولین جسمی-حرکتی مقایسه کرد.  123 نفر از جانبازان و معلولین جسمی- حرکتی در شهرهای ارومیه و تبریز پرسشنامه های خودکارآمدی تمرینی، انگیزه لذت گرایی و فضیلت گرایی برای فعالیت ها، عاطفه مثبت و منفی و سرزندگی ذهنی را تکمیل کردند.  نتایج نشان داد که تنها انگیزه فضیلت گرایی با عاطفه مثبت و سرزندگی ارتباط مثبتی داشت. خودکارآمدی تمرینی با بهزیستی فضیلت گرا رابطه مثبت داشت. تفاوت معناداری بین چهار نوع جهت گیری در زندگی در شاخص عاطفه مثبت و سرزندگی وجود داشت. افرادی که دارای میزان بالاتری از فضیلت-گرایی بودند، درجات بالاتری از عاطفه مثبت و سرزندگی ذهنی را به نسبت افرادی که میزان پایین تری از فضیلت گرایی و لذت گرایی (زندگی تهی) داشتند. همچنین افرادی که دارای میزان بالاتری از هر دو فضیلت گرایی و لذت گرایی بودند (زندگی کامل) دارای میزان بالاتری از عاطفه مثبت به نسبت افراد با زندگی تهی هستند. نتایج نقش مهم  فضیلت گرایی در بهزیستی جانبازان و معلولین جسمی - حرکتی نشان می دهد، و ترکیب این دو نوع انگیزه می تواند مرتبط با بهزیستی بهینه در این گروه از افراد باشد.
