Abstract

The present study examined the relationship between coach's leadership styles and group cohesion in the individual and group teams participating in the 10th sport domestic universiade of male students. 321 out of 1906  students selected as sample of this study. Athletes completed two instruments in this study Leadership Scale for Sport (LSS, Chelladurai & Saleh, 1980) and the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ, Carron, Widmeyer, & Brawley, 1985). The LSS contains 40 items that measures five dimensions of leadership styles and The GEQ with 18 items assess the two dimensions group cohesion. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was utilized to examine the internal reliability of LSS (r=0.85) and GEQ (r=0.72). Data were analyzed with one-sample kolmogrov-Smirnov, repeated measures ANOVA, Bonfferoni post hoc test,Pearson Correlation coefficient, and T-test(for independent groups), significance level of P&le0.05. Results showed coaches exhibited higher in training and instruction and lower in autocratic style among both interactive group teams and co-acting teams. Finally, there are no significant differences in task and social levels of interactive group teams and co-acting teams. Results showed coach’s styles of training and instruction, democratic, social support and positive feedback were all positively correlated to group cohesion and autocratic style negatively correlated to group cohesion.

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effects of electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) advertising on the sports customers' purchase intention with emphasis on the mediator role of consumer’s involvement. 270 sport customers voluntarily filled out the Bambauer-Sachse and Mangold electronic word of mouth advertising (2011), McQuarrie's consumer involvement (1992) and the Diallo (2012) and Park et al purchase intention (2008) questionnaires. Structural equation modeling (SEM) in software Lisrel 8.51 was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the electronic word of mouth advertising had a significant direct effect on the purchase intention (γ=0.22; p<0.05) and the consumer involvement (γ=0.70; p<0.01). The Findings prove the positive moderation role of involvement on the relationship between electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) advertising and purchase intention. According to results of model analysis the modified model had good fit (CFI=0.94; RMSEA=0.077; χ2/df=2.60). In conclusion, we can say that electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) advertising can have a great impact on the individual knowledge about products and consumer involvement in them, and it can thus affect consumers' purchase intention by provision of a large volume of information in a short time.

Abstract

Focus of Attention and Quiet Eye (QE) of the affecting variables on aiming task performance in recent decades have always been interesting for psychologist and sport science researchers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of attention instructions on gaze behavior and accuracy of dart throwing of novice in low and high task load. In a semi-experimental design with repeated measurements, participant performed dart throwing under three attentional condition (internal, external and control) in two different task load (low and high). Result showed the external focus in high load task improved accuracy of dart throwing than internal focus; in the event that, for low load task there was no significant difference between the attentional conditions. Also, for QE none of attention, load task and their interaction effects was not significant. Results of research for performance supported the constrained action hypothesis; and in contrast to the conscious processing hypothesis. Also the result of gaze behavior suggests several interesting areas for future research.

Abstract

It has been shown in various researches that the focus of attention and quiet eye duration (QED) are effective variables on the performance of targeting tasks. However, the impact of these variables on motor skills in children needs more research; Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different attentional focus instruction on QED and accuracy of children's darts throwing. Participants such as twelve right handed children (age: M=8.83, SD=0.79) without dart throwing experience participated in the study; while their eyes movements were recorded by an eye tracker system, participants performed 18 dart throws (6 blocks of 3 trials) under three different attentional conditions: 1) an external focus, 2) an internal focus, and 3) control conditions. The result showed that effect of focus of attention was significant neither for accuracy nor for QED. Therefore, in order to be aware of the optimal focus of children, more research is needed in various motor tasks.
