ثبات‌مرکزی واژه‌ای پرطرفدار محسوب می‌شود و اصول پایه‌ای بسیاری از برنامه‌های بازتوانی، آموزش عملکرد و برنامه‌های پیشگیری است. از‌این‌رو، هدف پژوهش حاضر؛ بررسی ارتباط استقامت و توان ثبات‌مرکزی با عملکرد ورزشکاران نوجوان می‌باشد. در این مطالعه 12 شناگر پسر شرکت کردند. برای اندازه‌گیری استقامت و توان ثبات‌مرکزی به‌ترتیب از پروتکل مک‌گیل و آزمون پرتاب توپ مدیسین‌بال و آزمون دراز‌ و نشست استفاده شد. عملکرد آزمودنی‌ها به صورت عمومی (پرش‌طول، پرش‌عمودی، ‏دو 9 مترسرعتی، دو 9×4 متر، آزمون انعطاف‌پذیری و پرتاب‌توپ مدیسین‌بال) و اختصاصی (تواتر استروک، و رکورد 100 متر کرال سینه) اندازه‌گیری شد. از روش همبستگی پیرسون برای بررسی ارتباط استقامت و توان ثبات‌مرکزی با عملکرد ورزشکاران استفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد تنها بین آزمون فلکشن تنه با پرش‌طول و پرتاب توپ مدیسین‌بال و بین امتیاز کلی توان ثبات‌مرکزی با انعطاف‌پذیری ارتباط وجود دارد. همچنین بین فلکشن جانبی سمت چپ با دو 9×4 متر و بین آزمون فلکشن تنه با تواتر استروک رابطه معکوس معنی داری یافت شد. نتایج این پژوهش بیانگر ارتباط ضعیف بین ناحیه ثبات‌مرکزی و عملکرد عمومی و اختصاصی شناگران است، که بر اساس این نتایج ضرورتی برای تمرکز روی این سبک از برنامه‌های تمرینی برای شناگران وجود ندارد.
