Abstract

Circadian rhythms play a crucial role in regulating various physiological functions of the human body and can impact the ability to perform motor tasks. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of time of day on static and dynamic balance using a cognitive task approach. We recruited 24 elderly men aged between 60-70 years who performed both static (standing on the foot scanner) and dynamic (timed up and go) balance tests with and without cognitive dual tasks. Our statistical analysis, using a significance level of 0.05, revealed significant differences in the parameters of the 95% confidence ellipse (fluctuation range), length of path, and average velocity of the center of pressure when performing the dual task compared to normal walking. However, these variables did not significantly differ at different times of the day. Interestingly, our results showed that the center of pressure fluctuations in closed eyes and different times of the day did not have a significant difference. Overall, our findings suggest that healthy elderly individuals are at similar risk of falling or tripping during different hours of the day. Nonetheless, the simultaneous execution of dual cognitive tasks leads to balance disruption in both eyes-arm closed positions.

Abstract

Purpose: Today, many new exercises are offered to strengthen central stability muscles, and CX WORX exercises are one of the new and useful exercises in this field. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of CXWORX exercises on postural and functional stability, proprioception, strength and specific skill in basketball players with trunk defects.
Methods: The current research was a semi-experimental and applied type of research. For this purpose, 30 female basketball players with trunk defects were selected by available sampling and randomly placed in two control and training groups. Trunk defects were evaluated through the vine jump test, lower limb stability through the Flamingo test, functional stability of the upper limb and dynamic balance through the Y test. CXWORX exercises were performed for six weeks by the training group. After the exercises, the post-test was performed. dependent t-tests and covariance analysis were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results of the research showed that six weeks of CXWORX exercises have a significant effect on improving the stability of upper limb function (P<0.05) and dynamic and static balance (P<0.05), and specific skill (P<0.05) in basketball players with trunk defects.
Conclusion: According to the results of the present research, it is suggested that the experts in the field of health and corrective movements use CX WORX exercises with the aim of increasing sports efficiency, increasing sports performance and specific skills of basketball players.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to Compare the effect of resistance training with active and passive rest on aerobic
and anaerobic fitness in soccer players. For this purpose 16 players of Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan club,
accidentally were divided into rest and active group (Height 177.78±6.68 cm, Weight 64.88±7.97 kg, age
18.22±0.83 years ,and percent fat 20.47±1.8) and rest passive group(Height 178.57±6.99 cm, Weight 64±
6.6kg, age 18±0.81 years ,and percent fat 20.05±1.7). The tests were performed in this order: maximal oxygen
consumption, maximal strength, Tmax, muscular endurance, Hoff and RAST test in the pre and post test. The
exercises were done for 8 weeks and twice week with 10 exercises of 30 to 50 percent of maximal strength
with this difference that the active rest group performed 3 sets of 20 repetitions exercise in 30 seconds that rest
interval between 30 seconds was completed with 2 sets of 10 repetitions exercise in 30 second. The passive
group performed 4 sets of 20 repetitions exercise in 30 seconds that rest interval between 30 seconds was
completed with 3 sets passive rest. After determining the normality by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and
homogenous variance test, independent and dependent t-tests with a significant level of α ≥ 0.05 were used.
The results indicate that after the training period, a significant difference was found in all variables exceptfatigue index in active rest group. But in passive rest group there were a significant difference in variables AT,
vVo2max, Tmax, performance of Hoff test, bench press muscular endurance and leg press strength from pre
test to post test. The results between groups indicated that there was a significant difference between two
groups in Vo2max, Tmax, AT, vVo2max, leg press muscular endurance, and mean power in benefits of active
rest group. Finally, the results showed that the resistance training with active rest causes improvements in
aerobic and anaerobic fitness of soccer players in comparison to resistance training with passive.

Abstract

One of the most important success factors in most athletic competitions, receiving aerobic power (speed,
agility and jumping) high. Basketball is a great combination of short and long term activities that depend on
aerobic fitness. Anaerobic fitness of many players during the match determines tactical the performance.
The purpose of the present study to investigate the effects of strength exercises on anaerobic power and
some the variables related Traband it. The subjects consisted of 30 basketball players Young, randomly into
two equal groups of 15 subjects (experimental and control) were randomly assigned to 6 weeks and 3
sessions the Exercises were done in a week. To analyze the data, independent samples T-test and paired
sample T-test used at a significance level p ≤ 0/05. Later for six weeks of exercises, significant differences
between the records obtained from the anaerobic power the variables (speed, agility, vertical jump) were
observed between the two groups. The present study showed that the strength exercises with the variables
Traband improve anaerobic power in young basketball players and And according to the results of seem to
exercises Traband useful method for improving performance of the anaerobic the athletes.

Abstract

The purpose of present study was to determine the effect of 8 weeks of  resistance training on serumic myostatin, and Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 (FGF-2) level in male Wistar rats. 20 adult male wistar rats(150-250gr) were randomly divided into 2 groups [control group; n=10 (C), resistance training; n=10 (R)]. Resistance training was conducted for 8 weeks (5 session/week) on a special 1 meter height ladder (divided by 26 stairs) with loading of 30٪ of body weight (suspended from the tail) in the first week and increased to 200٪ of body weight in the last week. Training includes 3 sets of 4 reps with 3 minutes rest between sets. At the end of last week blood samples were taken from the rats and myostatin, TGF-β1 and FGF-2 was measured in three groups with the ELISA kit. At the end of the study ،the plasma levels of the myostatin decreased [71/82±19/62 mg/dl (R) ver. 105/86±17/49 mg/dl(C). (p0/001)], but the level of FGF-2 increased significantly in resistance training group [102/462±11/135mg/dl (R) ver. 86/96±12/606 mg/dl (C) (p=0/048)]. In contrast, the serum level of TGF-β was not statistically different between the two groups [153/48±54/09 mg/dl (R).160/62±32/85 mg/dl (C). (p=0/725)]. This study shows that 8 weeks of resistance training reduces serum levels myostatin and increased serum levels of FGF-2. These two factors cause activation or non-activation of satellite cells (Muscle stem cells that control muscle hypertrophy). However the nerve - muscle agents in the first 8 weeks of resistance training have the maximum participation on strength increases, but in this research we see affect the signals of satellite cells in the first 8 weeks of resistance training can change significantly. Also, although serum levels of TGF-β1 in the exercise group was significantly different from the control group, but the overall value of the exercise group had slightly reduced.

Abstract

Time under Tension of muscle is one of the variables of strength training that contributes to its adaptation. The present study was conducted the effects of six weeks of resistance training with the varying Time under Tension of muscle on VEGF and endosotene serum levels  in healthy young women. This study was conducted on 20 female students (22.65±2.03years) Subjects were randomly and equally assigned to two groups with a Time under Tension of 1s- 1s(Normal Speed Contraction) and 3s- 3s (slow Speed Contraction). The exercise load was the same in both groups and resistance training was done in a circular manner for six weeks, three days a week in eight stations. Blood samples were taken from the subjects to study  research variables before the training period and 48h after the last session of the training. Data were analyzed by covariance analysis at a significant level of P≤0.05. There was no significant difference between the serum levels of VEGF and endostein in both groups (P≥0.05). In the strength test, the  SSC group experienced increase power further. However, there was no difference between the two groups in indicators related to angiogenesis for six weeks and  most probably, for this indicator needed more training time, but  practice with more Time under Tension (3s- 3s) can lead to increase power further.

Abstract

Osteosarcopenic obesity is the result of processes that lead to muscle and bone breakdown and increased fat tissue. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 12 weeks elastic band resistance training on functional indicators and Osteosarcopenic obesity index in women with Osteosarcopenic obesity. In this single blind randomized clinical trial, 49 elderly women with age 64.13 ± 3.6yrs, fat percentage 45.4 ± 6.56 %, T score of the minerals of the were -1.86 ± 1.42 were divided into two groups: control (n=22) and training (n = 27). The training group performed elastic band resistance training for 12 weeks. significant increases in short-term physical function (SBBP) (P = 0.024) and Z score of Osteosarcopenic obesity (P = 0.041), in the training group compared to the control group, and non-significant difference in muscle quality (MQ) (P = 0.200), fracture risk (FRAX) (P = 0.259), between exercise and control group. 12 weeks of elastic band resistance training seems to improve in short physical performance battery and Z score of Osteosarcopenic obesity ­ in elderly women with Osteosarcopenic obesity, but, probably a longer period of training is needed to further influence the other osteosarcopenic obesity index.

Abstract

Proprioception is essential for joint function and through which individual can detect body parts movement in space. Aim of present study is to investigate effect of balance training on unstable platform with tilting, translation and combined motion on knee joint position sense in active young males. 39 healthy active male divided in to three training and control (n=9) groups. Training on unstable platform with tilting motion group (n=10), Training on unstable platform with translating motion group (n=10) and combined training group (n=10) performed exercises program for 8 weeks, three times a week. Errors in repositioning of knee joint in 30, 45 and 60⁰ angles (active and passive) was measured by Biodex system 3, before and after training period. Data was analysed by using one-way ANOVA test (P≤0/05). Although after 8 weeks, active and passive errors in repositioning of knee joint in mentioned angles decreased in training groups but this difference was not significant (P≤0/05). Balance training on unstable platform alone cannot have a big effect on knee joint position sense in active young male.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8-weeks of resistance training and vitamin D supplementation on some indicators of renal function in male rats with renal failure. Methods: In this experimental study, 16 male rats (7-8 weeks and mean weight: 350 to 370 gr) were divided into four groups (n = 4): training, supplement, training and supplement and control group. After induction of kidney damage through NX 5.6 surgical method and two weeks later, resistance training was performed for 8 weeks. Simultaneously, 1000 unit of vitamin D per week intramuscularly was injected. Finally, glomerular purification (using urea and creatinine levels) and serum levels of vitamin D, calcium and phosphorus were measured. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA test and Tukey post hoc test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that glomerular filtration and vitamin D in the training and supplementation groups showed a significant increase compared to the control and training groups (P<0.05). However, Urea and creatinine and serum calcium and phosphorus significantly was decreased (P<0.05). It seems that the simultaneous use of resistance training and vitamin D supplementation can affect glomerular filtration rate.

Abstract

Adiponectin plays an important role in many metabolic and heart diseases. Regulation of liver enzymes is also essential for the health of the body's organs. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of a HIIT training period on adiponectin levels and serum concentrations of liver enzymes in obese and overweight boys. 22 obese and overweight boys were selected and randomly divided into two groups of control and experimental. The experimental group performed eight weeks of HIIT pedaling with 80% HR reserve intensity for 3 days a week. The variables of adiponectin, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) using kits and laboratory methods as well as aerobic power, body mass index, and fat percentage of tests in the two stages before and after Exercise protocol was also measured and covariance test was used to compare the research variables and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to examine the relationship. The results were analyzed at a significant level (P<0.05) using SPSS software version 24. Performing eight weeks of HIIT exercise using a bicycle resulted in a non-significant reduction in adiponectin (P>0.05), AST(P>0.05)   and ALP(P >0.05) enzymes. This exercise also significantly reduced ALT enzyme (P<0.05) and fat percentage (P<0.05) and increased aerobic capacity (P<0.05)
HIIT exercise strengthens aerobic power and reduces the percentage of fat and reduces the liver enzyme ALT in obese boys. Of course, more research is needed to clarify this issue.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the prevalence of injuries in the Iranian Football Premier League players before and after the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) through video analysis in the 2019-2020 season. The types of sports injuries were divided into acute and chronic categories based on the mechanism, and the injuries were analyzed by reviewing 143 videos from 239 matches. Prevalence, time of onset and affected area were recorded in a special sheet. According to the results, 219 injuries occurred before the outbreak of coronavirus and 276 injuries occurred after the outbreak of coronavirus. In the period before and after the outbreak of Corona virus, the lower limbs of the players (58/7%) were damaged more than other parts of their bodies. Also, the highest rate of injury occurred after the outbreak of coronavirus than before in the last minutes of the game (24/3%). Research Findings showed that the prevalence of injuries in Iranian Premier League football players in the post-outbreak period of Coronavirus increased due to home quarantine and closure of matches.
