Abstract

Circadian rhythms play a crucial role in regulating various physiological functions of the human body and can impact the ability to perform motor tasks. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of time of day on static and dynamic balance using a cognitive task approach. We recruited 24 elderly men aged between 60-70 years who performed both static (standing on the foot scanner) and dynamic (timed up and go) balance tests with and without cognitive dual tasks. Our statistical analysis, using a significance level of 0.05, revealed significant differences in the parameters of the 95% confidence ellipse (fluctuation range), length of path, and average velocity of the center of pressure when performing the dual task compared to normal walking. However, these variables did not significantly differ at different times of the day. Interestingly, our results showed that the center of pressure fluctuations in closed eyes and different times of the day did not have a significant difference. Overall, our findings suggest that healthy elderly individuals are at similar risk of falling or tripping during different hours of the day. Nonetheless, the simultaneous execution of dual cognitive tasks leads to balance disruption in both eyes-arm closed positions.

Abstract

The main goal of this research was to design and evaluate the features of a "home-based weightless fitness device with digital adjustment" for performing muscular exercises in a home environment. To achieve this goal, a combined quantitative and qualitative approach was employed, and a detailed assessment of the device's performance was conducted. In the initial stage, existing fitness equipment, resistance training methods, and technological advancements were investigated. This review provided fundamental information for the initial design of the device. Subsequently, using design software such as Rhino Cross 6 and AutoCAD 2018, precise three-dimensional models and initial prototypes were created. To validate the device's resistance, a digital force gauge was utilized, measuring the displayed force in eight different settings with the resistance adjusted on the device, allowing for the calculation of device deviation from standard and error margin. Furthermore, to assess the device's reliability three seated movements—leg press extension, seated chest press, and seated front raise bicep curl—, each performed with eight consecutive repetitions using a 10-kilogram weight. The results of Pearson's correlation coefficient (0.9) showed that the instrument has high reliability. Also, the results of intra-correlation reliability coefficient (0.8) showed that the device has good reliability and high accuracy in the produced resistance in different movements and repetitions. Ultimately, this research introduces an effective tool for muscular exercises in a home setting. With its precise resistance adjustment capability and versatility in exercise options, the device empowers athletes to perform exercises with greater precision. Overall, this study yields practical and implementable results, potentially playing a crucial role in enhancing the health and fitness of athletes and the general community.

Abstract

One of the most important success factors in most athletic competitions, receiving aerobic power (speed,
agility and jumping) high. Basketball is a great combination of short and long term activities that depend on
aerobic fitness. Anaerobic fitness of many players during the match determines tactical the performance.
The purpose of the present study to investigate the effects of strength exercises on anaerobic power and
some the variables related Traband it. The subjects consisted of 30 basketball players Young, randomly into
two equal groups of 15 subjects (experimental and control) were randomly assigned to 6 weeks and 3
sessions the Exercises were done in a week. To analyze the data, independent samples T-test and paired
sample T-test used at a significance level p ≤ 0/05. Later for six weeks of exercises, significant differences
between the records obtained from the anaerobic power the variables (speed, agility, vertical jump) were
observed between the two groups. The present study showed that the strength exercises with the variables
Traband improve anaerobic power in young basketball players and And according to the results of seem to
exercises Traband useful method for improving performance of the anaerobic the athletes.

Abstract

Proprioception is essential for joint function and through which individual can detect body parts movement in space. Aim of present study is to investigate effect of balance training on unstable platform with tilting, translation and combined motion on knee joint position sense in active young males. 39 healthy active male divided in to three training and control (n=9) groups. Training on unstable platform with tilting motion group (n=10), Training on unstable platform with translating motion group (n=10) and combined training group (n=10) performed exercises program for 8 weeks, three times a week. Errors in repositioning of knee joint in 30, 45 and 60⁰ angles (active and passive) was measured by Biodex system 3, before and after training period. Data was analysed by using one-way ANOVA test (P≤0/05). Although after 8 weeks, active and passive errors in repositioning of knee joint in mentioned angles decreased in training groups but this difference was not significant (P≤0/05). Balance training on unstable platform alone cannot have a big effect on knee joint position sense in active young male.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the prevalence of injuries in the Iranian Football Premier League players before and after the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) through video analysis in the 2019-2020 season. The types of sports injuries were divided into acute and chronic categories based on the mechanism, and the injuries were analyzed by reviewing 143 videos from 239 matches. Prevalence, time of onset and affected area were recorded in a special sheet. According to the results, 219 injuries occurred before the outbreak of coronavirus and 276 injuries occurred after the outbreak of coronavirus. In the period before and after the outbreak of Corona virus, the lower limbs of the players (58/7%) were damaged more than other parts of their bodies. Also, the highest rate of injury occurred after the outbreak of coronavirus than before in the last minutes of the game (24/3%). Research Findings showed that the prevalence of injuries in Iranian Premier League football players in the post-outbreak period of Coronavirus increased due to home quarantine and closure of matches.

Abstract

Introduction and aim: Physical activity and especially the motor proficiency of children have been studied from different aspects. The purpose of the present study was to determine the correlation among Functional Movement Screening scores with motor proficiency and physical activity levels of children aged 10 to 13 (Mean=11.72, SD=0.932) in Tehran province. Methods: In this descriptive study of correlation, all the children of primary schools in Tehran province were considered as the study population, from which 94 girls were selected by cluster random method. Their motor proficiency, physical activity levels, and functional movement were evaluated with Bruininks Oseretsky test-Short Form (BOT-2), International Physical Activity Questionnaire- Short Form (IPAQ-SF), and Functional Movement Screening test (FMS) respectively. Findings: The results of the Pearson correlation coefficient test showed that there is a significant relationship between the scores of the children's functional movement screening test and their BOT-2 total score (P=0.000), but the correlation between the total score of the functional movement screening test and the total score of the physical activity levels was not significant (P=0.267). Conclusion: In general, due to the existence of a significant relationship between functional movement and motor proficiency, the next step is to use early interventions and study their effect on improving children's performance and motor proficiency.

Abstract

vitamin D deficiency is associated with many cardiovascular disorders. Arterial stiffness responses also depend on nutritional and exercise. Therefore, the study aimed to investigate the relationship between arterial stiffness response after glucose uptake and exercise with baseline levels of vitamin D in inactive men and women.
The present study was an analysis correlation study, and the subjects were 88 inactive men and women with an age range of 20 to 45 years. Vitamin D, body composition, and arterial stiffness, were measured. Subjects then ran for 30 minutes at 65% of maximum heart rate. Also, 75g of glucose was given to the subjects after 30 minutes of activity, 60 minutes after the of glucose consumption and arterial stiffness was measured. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test and analysis of variance with repeated measures at a significant level (P≤0.05).there was a negative and significant relationship between baseline levels of vitamin D and changes in CAVI in women (p=0.001 and r=-0.559) and in men a positive and significant relationship (p=0.005 and r=0.413).It seems that basal levels of vitamin D can be effective in the vascular response; due to little research, more research is need.
