افراد مبتلا به اختلال شخصیت مرزی در زمینه‌های مختلف شناختی ازجمله پردازش اطلاعات، تصمیم‌گیری، برنامه‌ریزی، حافظه و حل مسئله مشکلاتی را تجربه می‌کنند. هدف از پژوهش حاضر مدل یابی نقش میانجی آگاهی فراشناختی در رابطه حافظه سرگذشتی بیش کلی‌گرا و حل مسئله بود. پژوهش از نوع بنیادی و از نظر روش اجرا از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری شامل تمام افراد دارای اختلال شخصیت مرزی مراجعه‌کننده به مراکز مشاوره و کلینیک‌های روان‌شناسی و روان‌پزشکی استان کردستان در سال‌های 98 -1397 بود. 300 نفر دارای تشخیص اختلال شخصیت مرزی بر اساس مصاحبه بالینی که مایل به شرکت در پژوهش بودند انتخاب شدند و به آزمون حافظه سرگذشتی شرح‌حال، پرسشنامه آگاهی فراشناخت و پرسشنامه حل مسئله اجتماعی پاسخ دادند. داده ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار Amos مورد تجزیه ‌و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. یافته ها نشان داد حافظه سرگذشتی بیش کلی‌گرا با ضریب 17/0 بر مهارت‌های حل مسئله و با ضریب 20/0 بر آگاهی فراشناخت اثر مستقیم داشت. همچنین، اثر مستقیم آگاهی فراشناختی بر حل مسئله 35/0 بود. حافظه سرگذشتی 4 درصد از واریانس آگاهی فراشناختی و همچنین حافظه سرگذشتی به همراه آگاهی فراشناختی 17 در صد از تغییرات حل مسئله را پیش‌بینی کردند. اثر غیرمستقیم حافظه سرگذشتی بیش کلی‌گرا بر مهارت‌های حل مسئله 07/0 بود. بنابراین می توان نتیجه گرفت که آگاهی فراشناختی به‌عنوان واسطه همانند یک ناظر عمل می‌کند که موجب افزایش نمرات مهارت حل مسئله می‌شود.
