اگر چه برای بهبود تعادل و درک حس عمقی، ورزش­‌های تعادلی توصیه می­‌شوند، اما سازوکار روشنی برای اثربخشی تمرین تعادلی روی افراد سالم ارایه نشده است. هدف از پژوهش حاضر، بررسی تاثیر هشت‌هفته تمرین تعادلی اختصاصی مچ پا بر تعادل و حس عمقی زانو و مچ پای والیبالیست­‌های نوجوان است. نمونه آماری این تحقیق را 30 نفر از بازیکنان والیبالیست نوجوان در لیگ استان گلستان که به‌طور در دسترس انتخاب و تصادفی در دو گروه کنترل و تجربی قرار داده شدند. گروه تجربی به مدت هشت‌هفته، سه‌جلسه در هفته به مدت 40 دقیقه تمرین تعادلی اختصاصی مچ پای والیبالست‌ها را انجام دادند. نتایج نشان داد که میانگین تعادل و میزان خطا در بازسازی زوایای مفصلی زانو و مچ پا پس از تمرین در گروه تجربی تفاوت معنی­‌داری داشت، درحالی‌که در گروه کنترل معنی­‌دار نبود. براساس نتایج تحقیق،می‌­توان گفت که تمرین­‌های تعادلی می­‌تواند سبب بهبود زمان تعادل و همچنین حس عمقی در مفاصل زانو و مچ پا شود.
