این مطالعه با هدف تأثیر تمرین و مکمل کوئرستین بر سطح مایواستاتین و فول‌استاتین در بافت قلب رت‌های دیابتی صورت گرفت. بدین منظور تعداد 50 سر موش نر ویستار 10 هفته­ای با میانگین وزنی 33±237 گرم به‌طور تصادفی در پنج گروه 10 تایی شامل: کنترل سالم، دیابت، دیابت+مکمل، دیابت+تمرین و دیابت+مکمل+تمرین قرار گرفتند. پروتکل تمرینی شامل پنج جلسه در هفته به مدت هشت هفته روی نوار گردان بدون شیب ویژه جوندگان به مدت 60 دقیقه و با سرعت 25 متر در دقیقه در هر جلسه دویدند و گروه‌های مکمل نیز به صورت گاواژ روزانه به مقدار 50 میلی‌گرم به ازای کیلوگرم وزن بدن کوئرستین را دریافت کردند. تغییرات مایواستاتین و فول‌استاتین بافت قلب رت­ها با استفاده از روش الایزا مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. نتایج نشان داد که اختلاف سطوح مایواستاتین در میان گروه‌ها معنی‌دار است (001/0P=). سطوح مایواستاتین بین گروه‌ تمرین+مکمل+دیابت با دیابت کاهش معنی‌داری داشت (002/0P=). میان گروه‌های مکمل+دیابت و تمرین+دیابت نیز تفاوت معنی‌داری وجود داشت (009/0P=). همچنین نتایج نشان داد که اختلاف سطوح فول‌استاتین در میان گروه‌ها معنی‌دار است (001/0P=). نتایج نشان داد سطوح فول‌استاتین بافت قلب میان گروه‌های دیابت، تمرین+دیابت، مکمل+دیابت و تمرین+مکمل+دیابت با گروه‌ کنترل افزایش معنی‌داری داشت (به ترتیب: 005/0P=؛ 001/0P=؛ 001/0P=؛ 001/0P=). به نظر می‌رسد تمرین هوازی با شدت متوسط و مصرف مکمل کوئرستین تأثیر مثبت و مفیدی بر سطح میوستاتین و فول‌استاتین دارد.
