در سال‌های اخیر شیوع اختلال‌های طیف اوتیسم، که یک وضعیت عصبی‌ رشدی محسوب می‌شود افزایش یافته است. لذا هدف تحقیق حاضر تاثیر تمرینات شناختی-حرکتی طبق مدل‌جنتایل بر بهبود برخی از مهارت‌های حرکتی درشت و ظریف کودکان مبتلا به اوتیسم بود. در مطالعه نیمه‌آزمایشی حاضر یکی از مراکز توانبخشی تحت نظارت سازمان بهزیستی استان تهران به صورت در دسترس انتخاب و 20 کودک 6-10 ساله دچار اختلال اوتیسم به صورت تصادفی ساده در دو گروه همگن آزمایش و کنترل تخصیص داده شدند. آزمودنی‌های گروه آزمایش در یک پروتکل تمرینی شش هفته‌ای (سه جلسه در هفته) شرکت کردند. هرجلسه تمرین شامل 60 دقیقه تمرینات شناختی- حرکتی طبق مدل‌جنتایل بود. برای گردآوری اطلاعات از خرده آزمون‌های تبحر رشد حرکتی برونینکس-اوزرتسکی استفاده شد. داده‌های جمع‌آوری شده با استفاده از تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری مکرر مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. نتایج تحقیق نشان داد که پس از تمرین شناختی- حرکتی، مهارت‌های سرعت دویدن و چابکی، تعادل ایستا و پویا، هماهنگی اندام فوقانی و سرعت پاسخ در گروه آزمایش به‌طور معنی‌داری افزایش یافت (05/0P<). باتوجه به یافته‌ها، به‌نظر میرسد تمرینات شناختی-حرکتی طراحی شده به عنوان یک روش مفید می‌توانند جهت توانبخشی مهارت‌های درشت و ظریف رشد حرکتی کودکان مبتلا به اوتیسم مورد استفاده قرار گیرند.
